Dear MoveCenter Experts: Why do auto shippers require that vehicles be empty when shipped? Wouldn’t it save money if our transferees packed their cars with some of their belongings?
While it may make sense to ship a car full of goods to save money, professional auto shippers will only insure the vehicle itself.
If your transferees are driving, of course they can pack anything in their car they want. But, if they are shipping a car, best to make sure it does not contain any goods. They should also make sure their car contains less than a quarter tank of gas.
